Problem with installing microsoft office 2007 on your Dell Inspiron Mini 12

The Windows Installer Service Can not Update One or More

Protected Windows: MS Office 2007

Yesterday I tried to reinstall the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 notebook which incidentally have an OS that already bundled the time of purchase Windows Vista Home Basic. Because the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 only has a capacity of 1 GB of RAM, so if I keep using Windows Vista is not possible to obtain maximum system performance.

Armed with these reasons I reinstall it and choose Windows XP OS to OS notebook Dell Inspiron Mini 12. The installation I use the USB stick. Because it is the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 does not have an optical drive. Step-by-step installation already in my previous article I describe to make abootable USB drive with WinToFlash and tips and tricks to install Windows XP via a USB stick.

Once the operating system has integrated all, drivers, and utilities also been installed it is time to install some standard applications began. But there is little discrepancy when I installed Microsoft Office 2007. At installation time is always out writing The Windows Installer Service Can not Update One or More Protected Windows.

I think the installer is broken. I try to restart the notebook and install MS Office 2007 again with a new installer. Still, a brief message from Microsoft that the Windows Installer Service Can not Update One orMore Protected Windows

Having been overwhelmed finally I tried googling with keywords The Windows Installer Service Can not Update One or More Protected Windows. And finally I found the solution. And roughly following I will describe for troubleshooting MS Office 2007 installation if the message The Windows Installer Service Can not Update One or More Protected Windows.

First, copy your existing file fp4autl.dll from your Windows XP CD. The file is located in the path
C: \ program files \ common files \ microsoft shared \ web server extensions \ 40 \ bin

Then you paste the file into the same directory on your PC / Notebook of the victim (the computer where MS Office 2007 always failed during installation). The last step is to restart your PC / Notebook and do reinstall your MS Office 2007. Missing files was actually the result of optimization of Windows XP is less than perfect so there are some files missing or deleted.
